Oxford International College is a registered examination centre for all of the British examining boards:

The College is a 'Highly Trusted Sponsor' under the Tier 4 scheme for international visa students, as granted by the UK Border Agency.

As a result of new regulation for student Visas by the Home Office, all colleges with international students are required to be approved by an Educational Oversight Body if they wished to continue to use the Tier 4 license process.

Oxford International College was one of the first colleges to be inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), an agency appointed by the UK Border Agency specifically to carry out inspections of 'Private Further Education and English Language Colleges'. The ISI report replaces any earlier reports from other inspection bodies, including the ASIC Report that was carried out in 2009.

The ISI found that Oxford International College "exceeds expectations" in all categories, including the overall quality of education, the levels in which the College complies with the published standards for private colleges, and the pastoral care the College offers its students. The inspectors also found the effectiveness of governance, leadership and management to be outstanding, judging that the College successfully helps its students to attain their academic goals.

The ISI is approved by the Secretary of State for Education for the purpose of inspecting schools in line with Section 162A of the Education Act 2002. The agency reports to the Department for Education (DfE) on various aspects of its findings and, in order to ensure that ISI inspections meet a high quality, ISI is monitored by Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills) on behalf of the DfE.

One of the purposes of the agency is to improve both the quality and effectiveness of education and the care for students in terms of their welfare. The reports are made public so as to allow parents, agents and associations to make a reliable choice when looking at a school or college for the first time.
