In June, shortly after sitting their AS exams, and immediately before heading off to summer breaks filled with work experience and university application preparation, many of our hard-working students sat the Intermediate Biology Olympiad. This tests students’ biology knowledge and encourages them to continue studying biosciences beyond school. The competition is open to students in the first year of post-16 education, and consists of a one-hour multiple choice paper taken online, with questions set on topics covered during the first year of A-level study.
We are proud that our students take every opportunity to strive towards their ambitious goals, and were delighted that the certificates they earned arrived recently from the Royal Society of Biology. Many congratulations to all the OIC students who took part, and especially congratulations to our 7 Gold Award winners, 7 Silver Award winners and 8 Bronze Award winners.
