OIC students take part in CIFE Football Tournament

OIC students participate in the CIFE Football Tournament at St George’s Park

On Thursday 25th of April, OIC students participated in the annual CIFE Football Tournament at St George’s Park National Football Centre in Burton upon Trent. St George’s Park is the training ground for the England national football team.

There were 11 teams from different parts of UK in the tournament and the teams where split in two groups. The football pitch where we played was a 3G pitch and it was called ‘David Beckham’ pitch. We played against Oxford Sixth Form College, CATS Cambridge, MPW Cambridge and MPW Birmingham. Although we lost the four games and we could not go through the next stage, all games were very enjoyable and OIC students played with the right spirit.

After our games we watched and enjoyed the next stages. In the final, CATS Cambridge won against Oxford Sixth Form College. Congratulations to CATS Cambridge who are this year’s CIFE football champions.

This Tournament was such a great experience that we all agreed that we will definitely participate in it again next year.
