Spotlight on: Barrie Dale

Today we shine the spotlight on OIC Chemistry Tutor, Barrie Dale.

Here at Oxford International College we pride ourselves on enabling bright and ambitious students achieve their potential and go on to attend world class universities, both here in the UK and around the world. Our students are very much the stars, but behind their success is the hard work and dedication of a team of tutors and staff that help make realising their dreams possible.

Barrie has been teaching with OIC for eight years. A graduate scientist with his doctorate from Oxford University, and with around 100 scientific papers published during his career, Barrie is a font of knowledge which proves invaluable to our students.

Barrie’s interests have always been split between his love for science and his love for the arts. Resolved from an early age to pursue both, Barrie has put an artistic spin on his work as an environmental scientist by photographing flowers through high magnification lenses. The resulting images are beautiful in their simplicity and Barrie is often shortlisted in international awards for this work. For Barrie photography has become an essential part of his life and he aims to take new photographs every day.

When he is not tutoring at the college or out with his camera Barrie enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchild enjoying the beautiful Oxford countryside.
