OIC Students take part in thought provoking adventures in Pembrokeshire

In August 23 students undertook a week of adventures at the TYF centre in Wales

In August last year 23 of our students took part in a week of adventure and discovery at the renowned TYF centre in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The course combined both physical and intellectual challenges.

The students have expressed clearly how much they benefitted from taking part. As the week progressed, they began to understand the interconnectedness of everything and, with expert guidance from a team of mentors their confidence visibly grew. As lawyer Richard Voke said of practicing Law, during his presentation:

“... most of your career will not be spent talking to lawyers about how much you know about the law, much of your time will be spent discussing with your clients their varied problems and for that you need a broad understanding and ability to grasp the finer points of many disciplines...”

Since their time in Wales, many of the students have made contact with the CEOs of the dynamic and ground-breaking companies involved and arranged visits and work experience. This is not only enriching for the students involved, it also benefits the organisations by providing them with fresh ideas and new perspectives.
