A-level Retake
Courses
Students who have failed to achieve satisfactory A-level exam grades at a
previous school or college can undertake one of our retake courses.
There are many reasons why a student may not perform
to his or her full capabilities at A-level. Our system of individual
tuition can help to identify and remedy the specific causes of
a student's underperformance.
We offer two retake courses over one-term or one-year:
One-term Retake Courses
The one-term A-level retake course usually runs from September,
with exams in January, but it is also available from January,
with exams in May/June. It is primarily for students who have
failed to achieve the required A-level grades to gain access
to their chosen university course.
Students may retake any combination of AS and A2 units permitted
by the examination boards. One advantage of the one-term retake
course is that students can still benefit from up to eight months
of a gap year.
We can also advise students about a wide range of gap year opportunities.
One-year Retake Courses
The one-year A-level retake course is for students whose exam
results at AS or A2 have fallen considerably below their expectations.
It is a highly intensive programme that involves sitting the
whole of A-level (AS and A2) in a single year.
The following types of student can enrol:
|
students who have completed their A-levels and who
wish to re-take some or all modules in order to improve
their overall grades |
|
students who have completed their AS level exams with
disappointing results, but who do not wish to retake the
entire AS year. In this case students can transfer to Oxford
International College with the aim of completing their AS
retakes in January, and the A2 exams in the May/June of the
same year |
GCSE Retake Courses
These are similar to the A-level retake courses, and are also available over
one-term or one-year. |
