Intensive Courses

Our standard A-level and GCSE courses have been carefully designed to meet the needs of most students; however, we also offer intensive programmes for those who require additional support. For instance:

  • students who have experienced disruptions or difficulties in their education and need to make up lost ground

  • students beginning the course later in the academic year
  • students wishing to complete the course in less than the usual time
  • overseas students who have a weaker background in the subjects they wish to study.

Our intensive A-level and GCSE programmes include:

  • A total of 36-40 hours of timetabled study per week

  • 16 hours of individual tuition per week, or 25 hours of mini-group tuition (max 3 to a class)
  • 12-24 hours per week of time-tabled independent study set by the tutors (exam questions, essays, project work and written tests) carried out in our invigilated study room

  • Regular written assessments to monitor progress
  • Written reports sent to parents/guardians twice each term (6 times a year)

Students may begin with an intensive programme in the first year and switch to a standard programme in the second.
