Dr Pound obtained his doctorate in Educational Studies from Oxford University . He taught English for a number of years in sixth-form colleges before moving to Oxford to begin research in the field of post-compulsory education. He has been a university lecturer for the last eight years, and his publications include articles on A-levels and the 16-19 curriculum. He has recently been involved in research projects examining the teaching of English literature in schools across the European Union, and has co-edited a book on the baccalaureate as a potential model for reforming the 14-19 curriculum in England .
