So who is the education wizard?

The short answer is Nick Strugnell. I am the driving force behind this enterprise and have worked for Oxford Science Studies as tutor, administrator, course directors and now managing director (part time) and head of online marketing for Oxford Science Studies and Oxford International College. When the post of wizard came up, it seemed too good to turn down.

In addition to my efforts, we have already had contributions from others, such as Dr. Rob Beddow and Tim Wilson of Zontul Films; as time goes by there will be more contributors.

So what does a dyslexic engineer (me) who attended a school where more people went to prison than university know about education? Well I have been involved in the education profession since doing a PGCE in 1989 – apart from about a year when I ran my own restaurant – so that is over twenty years in total. I have studied at the University College of North Wales (Engineering), Oxford – Keble College (PGCE) and Birkbeck London (Philosophy). I have been subjected to a wide range of education establishments and have learnt that education can have a profound effect on people’s lives. People’s aspirations and opportunities are to varying degree influenced by their education. In short education matters to me, because I believe it matters in general.
