Oxford International College is a private tutorial college based in the heart of Oxford, UK. We prepare students aged 16-21 for entry into the best British and international universities. Our core academic offering is the two year A-level programme in a wide range of subjects. Students live in our nearby Hall of Residence and with homestay families in Oxford. We are committed to providing the highest standards of education and pastoral care to help young people become independent learners and make the best of every opportunity at this important stage in their lives.
Students are taught in small groups and through individual tuition (one student per tutor). Our teaching methods are ideal for international students who may arrive in the UK with a diverse range of language and educational backgrounds. At the core of our A-level programme is a combination of traditional and exam-based teaching techniques which over the years have proven to be highly effective. As an institution we pride ourselves on the outstanding quality of our teaching, therefore our main focus is on ensuring the same high academic standards are maintained throughout the programme.
Excellent integration between British and international students is achieved through social activities and in the daily life of the College. We believe that our teaching staff are the best in the business. Some of our tutors are A-level and GCSE examiners, and many are Oxford graduates who know what it takes to achieve top grades.
At Oxford International College we are also passionate about equipping our students with a variety of complementary skills and tools that will serve them throughout their lives and help to build character and resilience in the areas of leadership, team working and personal effectiveness. Participation in the Global Ambassador Programme and a range of enrichment opportunities is highly encouraged.
Established in 2002 by a group of experienced educationalists lead by Dr Mario Peters, the organisation has grown into one of the most successful private tutorial colleges in the UK, welcoming students from the UK and all over the world. The College has grown every year since its foundation 12 years ago and is now securely settled into modern teaching premises at London Place and a large, modern Hall of Residence just 7 minutes walk away. London Place is a long-established educational site which has been completely refurbished by Oxford International College as part of its long-term commitment to growth and enhancing the student experience.
Since 2008 Oxford International College has been at the forefront of developing international education in mainland China in partnership with BE Education Ltd, a British-run company and one of China's leading education and school management organisations which specialises in preparing students for entry into top-ranking schools such as Eton College and Westminster College. Further schools across China are being planned for the future. To date we have established two schools in Changzhou and Chengdu.
Two other companies form part of our education group – Oxford Science Studies and Oxford Summer Academy. Oxford Science Studies are highly successful revision specialists running courses for GCSE, IGCSE, A-level and IB students during school holidays. Residential courses are offered during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays, as well as non-residential courses during the three half-term breaks. The Oxford Summer Academy is a unique programme designed for high school and college students aged 16-20 years. Participants are introduced to the unique academic and cultural environment of Oxford and the programme includes academic tuition, electives and a wide range of cultural activities and excursions. The Oxford Summer Academy is based at St Edmund Hall, Oxford University each July.
