Welcome to the Oxford International College (OIC) Brighton family. On this page, you’ll find lots of useful information and links, covering everything from daily life on our amazing campus to important dates for your diary.
Every student’s journey to success extends beyond academics. Our pioneering approach will nurture your personal growth and career aspirations, ensuring you develop a breadth of essential future-focused skills.
Our ground-breaking Super curricular programme will help you fulfil your long-term ambitions. Through six strands – which include further personal development and applying to university – you’ll create a strong portfolio of relevant experiences, qualifications, and awards that will help you stand out from the crowd.
Our student-led programme of clubs and societies nurtures individual talents, giving our young people the opportunity to bond over shared interests. Whatever your passion – whether it’s science, sports, the arts, or something a little bit different – we’ll help you to plan and run your own activities.
Throughout your learning journey, we’ll help you develop the ‘growth mindset’, characteristics, and values you’ll need to flourish here, at university, and beyond. Challenges on our award-winning Global Campus platform nurture critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy skills, while our comprehensive wellbeing approach builds resilience, confidence, and adaptability.
Exclusive collaborations with UNICEF and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) make our school a truly unique place to learn. In our state-of-the-art labs, you’ll use ‘design thinking’ to solve STEAM challenges set by MIT professors. You’ll also explore pressing global issues, including climate change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, through UNICEF-curated projects.
In Years 9, 10, and 11, our students wear a casual uniform comprising polo shirts, chinos or a skirt, a zip-up sweatshirt, and plain shoes or trainers. This ensures everyone looks smart and tidy, feels comfortable, and is ready to tackle anything the day throws at them. Our Year 12 and 13 students can either wear their own clothes during the college day or items of uniform. For sports, students wear our bespoke college kit.
Our boarders enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, which they eat together in the college’s communal dining room. Our menu has been carefully crafted with wellbeing and physical health in mind, taking inspiration from different cuisines, and giving students a real home from home experience. This includes a creative lunch menu, which includes two main choices, as well as a street food-style option, sides, and dessert.
Student health, happiness, and wellbeing is our priority. We know how important it is to help our young people settle into college life, both socially and academically. That’s why the education we offer is underpinned by an outstanding pastoral system, which nurtures personal growth and provides the 24/7 care our students need to thrive.
Throughout your time here, you’ll be supported by a team of experts, including your Strategy Tutor, our Boarding House Team, and Counsellor. Our OICB ROCKS ‘five ways to wellbeing’ programme promotes positive emotional and physical health, too. You can also access bespoke support in our dedicated wellbeing centre.
Yes! We’re proud to be a truly international school that’s home to students from more than 20 countries.
