Academic excellence
At Oxford International College, our goal is simple: to prepare you for success at your dream university. How do we do it? By offering a unique, three-pillared approach that combines academic excellence, personal development, and career preparation. This will ensure you develop the breadth of life- and future-focused skills you need to stand out from the crowd.

Studying here, you’ll follow your own Global Strategic Pathway, which will map out your entire learning journey from start to finish. From our first meeting to A-level results day, you’ll follow a tailored programme that’s based around your talents and interests, goals and aspirations.

This includes the GCSE and A-level courses you choose, which will depend on the university degree you have in mind and the country you want to study in. Whichever route you take, you’ll benefit from specialist tuition, expert exam preparation, and constant guidance. For example, you’ll sit short, weekly Strategic Cumulative Informative Tests (SCITS) in your GCSE and A-level subjects, which help us identify areas for improvement.

Challenged, supported, and working towards their goals, our students achieve outstanding success. We’re one of the top A-level schools in the UK, with students consistently achieving over 90% A* or A grades since 2019. In 2022, 95% of our GCSE learners earned grades 9-7 (A*-A).

With remarkable results – and a toolbox of future-proofed skills – our students get exactly where they want to go. In 2022 and 2023, a staggering one in three applicants were accepted to study medicine at either Oxford or Cambridge, the pinnacle of academic excellence. What’s more, over the past four years, more than half of our applicants have gone on to study at one of the UK’s prestigious G5 universities.

The world’s best teachers
Oxford International College (OIC) is home to some of the best tutors in the world.

Carefully chosen, our exceptional educators are leaders in their fields. Many are graduates of the UK’s most prestigious universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. Several are also accredited examiners, which means they truly understand what it takes to achieve outstanding grades. A number have PhDs, are published authors, and regularly contribute to academic journals, too. This breadth of expertise and experience ensures our students benefit from the highest quality academic instruction.

Our tutors know what it takes to bring out the best in every student. They foster a supportive and collaborative environment where you can confidently ask questions, engage in debate and discussion, and express your ideas. They’re also enthusiastic innovators who embrace cutting-edge techniques and approaches. This ensures every lesson, experience, and programme is energising and engaging – and that you’re inspired to go above and beyond.

Learning at OIC doesn’t stop when lessons end. Our team are committed to helping you achieve your goals by providing outstanding academic guidance outside of regular class hours. They’re always on hand to answer your questions, help you prepare for exams, and overcome any challenges.

Outstanding experiences
At OIC, we know that academics are just one aspect of what’s needed to thrive in today’s competitive world. That’s why we offer an extraordinary range of tailored courses, work and internship experiences, and clubs that hone each student’s talents – and prepare them for the future.

Our ground-breaking Supercurricular department will help you fulfil your university and career ambitions. Through six strands – which include beyond the syllabus; programmes, awards, and competitions; and further personal development – you’ll create a rich portfolio of experiences and career-centred skills that will help you stand out from the crowd.

Crucially, every activity is personalised to you. If you want to be a lawyer, for example, you’ll take part in the immersive Mock Trial Competition. Other opportunities include our Internship Project and an Oxbridge Mentor Programme.

You’ll also be encouraged to take part in National Olympiads in biology, chemistry, physics, and maths. These prestigious competitions give our students a platform to showcase their knowledge, develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and compete against peers.

A multitude of clubs and societies – split into skill-, knowledge-, and fun-based categories – nurture passions and talents, too. These include sporting activities such as basketball, football, and tennis, as well as stock investment and Glee club. Specific economics, engineering, dental, law, and medic societies bring like-minded students together.

At every stage of your personal journey, we’ll help you develop the characteristics, values, and life-skills you’ll need to flourish here, at university, and beyond. You’ll enjoy team building, leadership, and volunteering activities, while our GCSE students take part in regular personal, social, health, and economic (PSHE) sessions. We’ll look after your health and happiness, too, and equip you with the tools you need to embrace challenges, overcome obstacles, and build resilience.

Our social purpose
Being part of such a culturally diverse community enriches our students’ education. Our pioneering spirit inspires action, too, from fundraising for local charities to volunteering in the community. This ensures our young people develop a portfolio of skills, values, and experiences that help them stand out from the crowd.

Our social purpose
In a diverse college community that’s focused on the future, our students become confident and compassionate global citizens, ready to take on the world.

At OIC, we believe in the importance of attributes like ambition, leadership, and teamwork. Each year, our students take part in the Young Enterprise Competition, which gives them an insight into the real-world challenges and opportunities of running a business. In the process, they gain hands-on experience, grow in confidence, and cultivate a strong sense of entrepreneurialism.

Our students also make meaningful connections in our community. They volunteer in local hospitals and with mental health charities, discovering firsthand the impact their actions can have on others. Our young people also proactively organise their own activities, including a student-led club that tutors younger learners.

The college proudly supports an array of charities, too. From fundraising to pop-up sales, our students use their skills, determination, and drive to effect tangible change locally and across the world.

Elected each year, our Student Council is a bridge between our young people and the college’s leadership team. The Council represents their peers with pride, conveying their needs and questions, and organising clubs and activities that reflect our student body’s interests.

The Oxford International College (OIC) family
Oxford International College (OIC) is a place of passion and purpose; a community where everyone is inspired to exceed expectations and go above and beyond.

Our students drive our culture of high performance, motivating and supporting one another in and outside of the classroom. Their sense of camaraderie and team spirit – which is rooted in shared passions and a desire to be their best – is a joy to behold. Here, no-one is competing against anyone else; instead, our young people are working together to achieve their individual goals.

Home to learners from more than 40 countries, OIC is a truly international community. We embrace our cultural diversity at fun-filled events throughout the year, from Halloween parties to traditional celebrations. These foster understanding, promote inclusivity, and give our students and staff a chance to bond over shared experiences.

Parents play an important role in every student’s learning journey. Parent-teacher meetings provide detailed updates on progress and achievements. And on our secure ISAMs portal, they can keep track of timetables and access important documents, including college reports. We also send out regular college communications, sharing the latest news from our community.

Our independent school in Oxford is also a proud member of the Nord Anglia Education family, which connects our students to unique global experiences and opportunities. This includes an immediate network of peers and alumni across the world.
