IELTS PREPARATION COURSE
As part of their A-level and GCSE courses, we offer English for Academic Purposes (EAP) classes that lead to the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) qualification. Our IELTS preparation course ensures our international students achieve the level of English proficiency required by UK universities.
WHAT IS THE IELTS?
The IELTS is an English language proficiency test for non-native speakers. Globally, over four million people take the test each year, making IELTS the world’s most popular English language proficiency assessment. IELTS is developed and run by the British Council in partnership with IDP Education and Cambridge Assessment English.
In the UK, universities require evidence of proficiency for students whose first language isn’t English. Their preferred option is IELTS, which measures the ability to communicate in English across all four language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

OUR IELTS PREPARATION COURSE
At Oxford International College, we offer English for Academic Purpose (EAP) classes that lead to the IELTS qualification.
EAP classes are typically taught in small groups of up to five people, although we also offer one-to-one tuition for students who need the qualification quickly. Our IELTS preparation classes run weekly during term time and students follow the programme until they achieve the required test score.
