Our Calendar

GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND

Our students enjoy a breadth of Supercurricular activities, extra-curricular programmes, and unique experiences that help them stand out from the crowd.

Supercurricular department
Our pioneering Supercurricular department helps our students to fulfil their university and career ambitions. Through six strands – which include ‘beyond the syllabus’ and ‘programmes, awards, and competitions’ – our learners create a rich portfolio of experiences and career-centred skills that give them an extra edge.

Clubs and societies
We offer a variety of skill-, knowledge-, and fun-based clubs that nurture passions and talents. These include sporting activities such as basketball, football, and tennis, as well as stock investment and Glee clubs. Specific economics, engineering, dental, law, and medic societies bring like-minded students together, too.

Personal development
An array of opportunities develop the characteristics, values, and life-skills our students need to thrive in the future. Our learners drive real change through our Student Council, raise money and awareness for local and international charities, and volunteer in local hospitals. They also take the lead on our annual team building trip and at our debate club.

Student information
Our comprehensive guide for students contains a wealth of practical information, from our dress code to tips for studying in the UK.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)

  • Do students wear a uniform?
The college is a relaxed environment, and our students don’t wear a uniform. However, we do have a dress code. You’ll receive details about this in your pre-arrival pack.
  • Do you offer boarding?
Yes, boarding is an integral part of college life. Living in one of our four city-centre houses – which are just a short walk from our teaching buildings – our young people enjoy a genuine higher education-style experience. Students also receive 24/7 care and expert guidance from our experienced team of house parents.

Find out more about boarding with us.
  • Which universities do your students go to?
Thanks to our comprehensive Global Strategic Pathways programme, our students receive offers from the world’s top-ranked universities.

For the last two years, one in three applicants earned places to study medicine at either Oxford or Cambridge. What’s more, since 2019, more than half of our students have gone on to study at one of the UK’s prestigious G5 universities. Recent OIC graduates have been accepted by the University of Hong Kong, London School of Economics, and University of Toronto, among many others.
  • What nationalities are represented at the college?
Our culturally diverse college community is home to young people from more than 40 countries.
  • How do you support student health and wellbeing?
We know how important it is to help our young people settle into college life, both socially and academically. And that’s why, from their first day, we build a team around each student. This includes our dedicated pastoral department, boarding house parents, a mentor, and a progress tutor. We also employ a full-time nurse and a professional counsellor. Together, they look after every aspect of our learners’ growth and development.
