Celebrating Excellence in Catering at OIC - Catering Update
A Taste of Collaboration and Innovation in Every Bite
The Catering team at OIC has once again raised the bar, earning widespread praise for their culinary excellence and unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality meals. Over recent months, the team has worked closely with students, boarding staff, and college leadership to refine menus and dining experiences, ensuring the offerings cater to diverse tastes and dietary preferences.

Engaging with Students and Staff

In a bid to foster a collaborative environment, the Catering team at OIC actively sought feedback from the College community. Through the use of comment cards in dining areas, regular dialogue with the Student Council and input from the Director and Assistant Head of Boarding, students' voices have played a pivotal role in shaping College menus. The “You Said, We Did” initiative has been instrumental in driving meaningful changes, with recent updates including:

  • More Asian Dishes: At least one Asian-inspired dish is now served daily, with upcoming additions such as Pad Thai, Ramen, and Udon noodles.
  •  Customisable Salads: A "Build Your Own Caesar Salad" option will be introduced mid-February.
  • Enhanced Quality and Variety: The team has prioritised quality by sourcing meat from local supplier, Aldens Butcher, and incorporating more duck dishes, sticky rice, and egg-fried rice into the menu.

A Growing Team for Growing Demands

To support these improvements, the Catering team is continuing to expand, ensuring the College maintains the highest standards of service. The team have also introduced new ways to engage with students, encouraging suggestions that help refine dining experiences across College sites.

Special Menus for Special Occasions

We are looking forward to Lunar New Year menu, which will delight students with authentic flavours and vibrant dishes that celebrate international cultural traditions. The team are looking forward to showcasing their creativity and dedication to inclusivity, making OIC’s dining halls a hub of excitement and celebration.

Looking ahead, the Catering team remains committed to further innovation and engagement. From introducing additional cereal options like Frosties to improving the quality of burgers and expanding sauce availability, the team is determined to address every detail that enhances the student experience.

At OIC, mealtime is not just about nourishment—it’s about community, culture, and collaboration. With the Catering team’s continued efforts, students (and staff!) can look forward to even more exceptional dining moments in the months to come.
