Eugene has been awarded with a significant scholarship towards the cost of her 5-year degree to study Medicine, with St George’s University (SGU), who are based in the West Indies (Grenada). We have fostered a strong relationship with SGU, who also provided a week-long medical programme for our AS students during the February Enrichment Week. In addition, the University subsequently provided OIC with professional suturing equipment to support our Medicine Society.
Eugene presented really well at interview and impressed the admissions team with a strong application. What is particularly notable about SGU, is that they are the No. 1 provider of doctors into the USA for their residencies – which makes this a desirable option for some of our aspiring medics. This Medical Pathway Program is run in collaboration with Northumbria University, Newcastle. Eugene will complete the first two years of study in the UK before then progressing to the west Indies, for the remainder of the course.
