As part of their A-Level and GCSE course, OIC offers English language classes leading up to the IELTS qualification.
For international students whose first language is not English, we provide EAP classes (English for Academic Purpose) leading to the IELTS qualification.
British universities require evidence of proficiency in English for students whose first language is not English. Their preferred option is IELTS (the International English Language Testing System), which measures ability to communicate in English across all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking.
At OIC, EAP classes are usually taught in small groups of up to five or by individual tuition for students who require the qualification quickly. Classes run weekly throughout the term and students can take EAP classes until they have achieved their required IELTS test score.
All prospective students of the college will need sufficient levels of English, not only to satisfy CAS stipulations (required for Visa students) but also to be able to cope with their chosen study programmes.
