Cambridge Schools Debating Competition

OxColl-374-scaled (1)
for the Cambridge Schools’ Debating Competition that took place last Saturday organised by members of the Cambridge Union. Four OIC teams participated in the competitions, including Karlo, Daniel, Johnathan, Zirong, Oscar, Bernice, Daniel, and Anna. Well done particularly to Oscar and Bernice, who won three out of four debates and were only three points away from reaching the Finals - an impressive feat. The motions debated included:
  1. THW ban international aid charities from using sensational, graphic, or overly emotional image of suffering in fundraising and advertising campaigns.
  2. THBT schools should teach children to be skeptical of parental authority
  3. THBT medical drugs that haven’t passed clinical trials should be given to patients in an opt-in system
  4. THB that the IOC and FIFA should allow doping in sports
Congratulations to all participants!
