At OIC, education is never one-dimensional. Alongside academic rigour, we believe in shaping students who lead with compassion, confidence, and purpose.
In our Parent Survey, families shared a clear desire for more opportunities for students to give back, take initiative, and make an impact beyond the classroom.
We listened — and we are proud of what is already underway.
Across the College, we are expanding social purpose experiences, including:
•Sounds of Hope, bringing music into the wider community
•Student volunteering partnerships such as St Luke’s Hospice
•Seasonal concerts and outreach events that connect students with Oxford beyond our walls
Parents also called for meaningful, student-led initiatives — and we are seeing inspiring leadership emerge.
Serena (Year 13) now leads a pioneering partnership with Endeavour Academy, supporting students with significant learning needs. For the first time, Endeavour students joined learning experiences beyond their own school — guided by OIC students.
In addition, our Student Council is taking an even stronger role in outreach and charity work, supported by our new Charities Lead, Jenny Bourlakis.
This is what community looks like at OIC: ambitious students, guided by values, supported by families, and prepared to lead in a changing world.
