Students gave up part of their weekend to spend time with residents at St Luke’s, sharing conversation, laughter and music as part of a community Coffee Morning.
Connecting Through Community

Despite preparing for their upcoming MTR exams, a group of students volunteered their Saturday morning to visit St Luke’s, spending time getting to know residents and helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Much of the morning was simply about conversation and connection. Students sat with residents, listened to their stories and enjoyed getting to know them, with plenty of laughter shared along the way.
Music was also a special part of the visit, with several students performing for the residents. What began as a series of short recitals soon developed into a longer piano performance, creating a relaxed atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
The Coffee Morning was a meaningful opportunity for students to contribute to their local community, showing kindness, compassion and a willingness to give their time to others. Their contribution was also recognised with House Points.
Students are already looking forward to returning for the next Coffee Morning in November and continuing the connections they have begun to build with residents.
