Universities Without Borders

Universities Without Borders - Universities Without Borders

Our students had the opportunity to explore university study around the world this week as representatives from four international institutions visited the College.

On Monday, we welcomed representatives from the University of Toronto, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) in Madrid and TETR College of Business.

Together, the four institutions showcased just how varied international higher education can be. Students heard about opportunities at large, research-led universities, specialist art and design education with strong connections to the creative industries, and an innovative approach to business education that enables students to study across multiple global hubs.

Looking Beyond the UK

During the visit, representatives introduced their universities and shared what makes studying at each institution and destination unique.

Students were then able to speak directly with the representatives, asking questions about degree courses, admissions requirements, university life and studying in different countries. These conversations gave them the chance to look beyond course information and gain a better understanding of what living and studying internationally could actually be like.

Students also met Sheena and James from The University Guys, who specialise in international university guidance and support students considering higher education opportunities around the world.

For OIC's international community, visits like this provide an important opportunity to explore a broad range of possible destinations and compare different university systems, courses and experiences before making decisions about their next steps.

Our visitors also commented positively on the engagement of OIC students and the thoughtful questions they asked throughout the session.

With destinations and ambitions spanning the globe, the visit was another valuable opportunity for students to broaden their understanding of international higher education and discover where their future studies could take them.
