David Nolland - David Nolland

David studied Mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge (BA, MA, MMath) before completing his PhD in Mathematical Physics at the University of Durham, specialising in String Theory and the Foundations of Quantum Field Theory. His research in this field continues to be cited today!

He went on to lecture at Durham, Northumbria, and Liverpool universities before moving into school teaching. Alongside teaching, David has edited Mathematics and Physics textbooks and translated academic works from French and German, including projects on Viktor Frankl.

At OIC, David thrives on teaching ambitious students who share his fascination with the mathematical foundations of the real world. He values the chance to work alongside colleagues and students who are deeply passionate about their subjects.
