Jan joined OIC in 2019, bringing a distinguished academic background in theoretical physics. He studied at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland with an Erasmus year in Galway, Ireland, before completing an International Master’s at Utrecht University, Netherlands on a Julius Institute scholarship. He earned his PhD (summa cum laude) in Physics from Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich, supported by the Max Planck Institute, and went on to postdoctoral fellowships in Belgium, Spain, and Italy.
Jan has published 18 scientific articles on black holes in supergravity and string theory, contributing to high-impact international journals. He also holds a PGCE from the University of Oxford, where he trained on an Institute of Physics scholarship, and is a committed teacher of both Mathematics and Physics.
At OIC, Jan leads the Brain STEM Club and thrives on working with highly motivated students, encouraging them to ask questions, explore complex ideas, and see how the laws of physics find expression in the language of mathematics. He is passionate about helping students discover the excitement of theoretical physics in a supportive and challenging environment.
Outside the classroom, Jan enjoys music and believes in seeking inspiration from others: “Seek the company of those who inspire you.”
