Megan Paton — Teacher of English

Megan joined OIC in 2024, bringing with her a wealth of international teaching experience. She studied at Rhodes University in South Africa before completing a PGCE and Master’s in Education at the University of Cape Town, as well as a CELTA qualification and a Diploma in Digital Learning Design.

Her career has taken her from teaching English as a foreign language to leading as a Director of Studies, working with students from across the world. These experiences deepened her fascination with the intersection of language, culture, and learning, and her passion for exploring how pedagogy shifts across different contexts.

At OIC, Megan teaches English and supervises EPQ projects. She loves inspiring students to think critically about how writers use language and enjoys watching them grow in confidence as learners.

Outside the classroom, Megan is a keen runner who trains for half marathons, a book lover who often loses track of time in a great story, and a self-confessed perfectionist when it comes to coffee and muffins. She believes learning never stops and that resilience, curiosity, and kindness are the keys to thriving in life.
