A Journey of Passion and Innovation in Computer Science
At Oxford International College, we are privileged to have students who inspire with their brilliance and determination. One such exceptional student is Ramtin Khajehshahzanian, a young innovator, researcher, and AI enthusiast whose journey exemplifies the power of passion and perseverance.
From Iran to the UK: Bridging Dreams Across Borders

Hailing from a small city in Iran, Ramtin’s journey began in a traditional school setting before earning a coveted spot at a National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents (NODET) school—an honour achieved by less than 5% of applicants. With a sharp mind and a thirst for learning, he quickly distinguished himself as the head of his school’s Maths and Physics Club and the founder of its first Coding Club. His early projects included pioneering machine learning initiatives and creating a patent-pending kinetic energy sidewalk.

Ramtin’s transition to OIC marked a transformative chapter. Despite moving to the UK at a young age, he seamlessly adapted to independent life, immersing himself in advanced fields of computer science, from AI engineering to device programming and robotics.

Unlocking the Future Through Research and Collaboration

Ramtin’s dedication to research led him to collaborate with OIC's passionate Teacher of Computer Science, Ms. Parisa Nejad, a former Oxford researcher, on a groundbreaking paper analyzing quantum computing education. This work, centered on a board game designed to simplify complex concepts, is expected to be published by the Oxford University Press, making Ramtin the youngest co-author in its history!

In addition, Ramtin independently developed a hybrid deep learning model, combining Liquid Time Constant Neural Networks and transformers for time-series data. This innovative research, soon to be submitted to Nature Scientific Reports, addresses challenges in explainability and flexibility for applications like autonomous driving and financial forecasting.

Nurturing Passion and Giving Back

Beyond his academic pursuits, Ramtin finds joy in mentoring peers and sharing knowledge. He has held revision classes for GCSE and AS students, covering subjects like Computer Science and Further Maths. His students consistently praise his clarity and passion for teaching.

His interests also extend to music, where he composed “Soha,” a heartfelt piano piece reflecting his longing for home, and developed AI models to generate Persian classical music.

A Legacy of Inspiration

Ramtin’s journey at OIC is a testament to the transformative power of opportunity, mentorship, and hard work. His multifaceted achievements—whether in AI engineering, innovative research, or creative expression—serve as an inspiration to students worldwide. At OIC, we are proud to celebrate Ramtin as a shining example of what determination and passion can achieve.
