OIC Amplify was as much about connection and community as it was about study.
During the half term, boarding houses became vibrant centres of activity, filled with opportunities for students to relax, explore new interests, and strengthen friendships.
Students took part in film nights, pottery workshops, mindfulness sessions, and themed celebrations, creating memories and moments of balance amid their academic routines.
Cultural trips to landmarks such as Oxford’s historic museums added depth and perspective, reminding students that learning extends far beyond the classroom.
These experiences — whether sharing laughter over a board game, trying something creative for the first time, or discovering local history — nurtured a sense of belonging within the OIC community.
OIC Amplify showed that true excellence flourishes when academic ambition is balanced with wellbeing, friendship, and cultural curiosity. As one student reflected, “It felt like the best of both worlds — learning deeply, but also living fully.”
