For our aspiring medics and scientists, this half term’s Biograd Residential in Liverpool offered an unforgettable taste of life in medicine and research.
The week began with a thrilling Shiverpool Ghost Tour, where students explored Liverpool’s historic streets by night — a fun, atmospheric start that built excitement and camaraderie and perfect timing for Halloween!
Over the following days, students immersed themselves in BioGrad Education’s Medicine and Science Research Enrichment Programmes, experiencing real-world clinical and laboratory work.
A highlight of the trip was the visit from Nicole Wong, an OIC alumna and former Head Girl (Class of 2023), now studying Medicine at the University of Liverpool. Nicole shared her journey — from Malaysia to Oxford, and now to medical school — inspiring our current students with her warmth and wisdom.
Her story was a reminder that dedication, curiosity, and resilience can transform ambition into achievement. The Biograd experience perfectly captured what OIC Amplify stands for: taking learning beyond the classroom, nurturing passion through practice, and connecting students to a global community of excellence.
