OIC Student David Receives Offer from New York University
Oxford International College is delighted to share that student David has received an offer from New York University, one of the world’s leading research universities. His success reflects OIC’s strong academic preparation and commitment to supporting students towards competitive global university destinations.
We are delighted to share that David has received an offer from New York University (NYU), one of the world’s leading research universities and a highly selective global institution. This achievement reflects David’s academic commitment and ambition, as well as his readiness to thrive in a demanding, international university environment.

Founded in 1831, NYU is internationally recognised for its academic excellence, research output and global vision. With its main campus anchored in New York City, and additional degree-granting campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai, NYU offers students a truly global education. The University is home to more international students than any other US university, creating a diverse and intellectually rich academic community.

David plans to study Sociology within NYU’s College of Arts & Science, an academically rigorous division known for its emphasis on critical thinking, research and interdisciplinary study. Studying sociology at NYU provides students with the opportunity to explore social structures, inequality and global issues within a dynamic urban setting, drawing on the expertise of world-leading faculty.

Alongside his intended course, David is also keen to explore Computer Science and Finance, taking advantage of NYU’s flexible academic structure and breadth of offerings. This interdisciplinary approach reflects both David’s academic curiosity and NYU’s strength across the social sciences, STEM and professionally focused disciplines.

Throughout his time at Oxford International College, David has been supported through a personalised academic pathway, tailored university guidance and a strong emphasis on super-curricular development. This has included structured support with subject exploration beyond the curriculum, independent academic enquiry, and guidance in presenting his interests clearly and authentically through his university applications. These experiences have helped David develop the intellectual independence and academic confidence required by highly selective global universities such as NYU.

Admission to NYU is highly competitive, with recent acceptance rates below 12%, and even lower for programmes within the College of Arts & Science. David’s offer places him among a small group of students worldwide selected to join a university that educates over 65,000 students, undertakes more than $1.27 billion in research annually, and counts leaders across science, business, government and the arts among its alumni.

We congratulate David on this outstanding achievement and look forward to sharing more about his journey, with an interview with David coming soon.
