ISA Future Ready Award Shortlist 2026

OIC Shortlisted for ISA Award - ISA Award Shortlist
Oxford International College has been named a finalist for the ISA Award for Future Readiness 2026, recognising the College's commitment to preparing young people for university, future careers and a rapidly changing world.

The Independent Schools Association award celebrates schools demonstrating vision, adaptability and innovation, including approaches that develop critical thinking, creativity, digital literacy, global awareness and real-world problem-solving.

At OIC, future readiness extends beyond any single programme. It shapes the way students learn, explore their future ambitions and connect academic knowledge with the world around them.

Preparing students for a changing world

OIC's academically ambitious curriculum encourages students to look beyond traditional subject boundaries.

In Chemistry, for example, scientific theory can lead to discussions around battery materials, renewable technologies, energy security, sustainability and global economics.

Technology also plays an increasingly important role.

The College has invested more than £120,000 in its multi-purpose Innovation Lab, where students can access robotics, 3D printers, AI-enabled computing and high-performance workstations. More than 40 students now use the facility each week through classes, electives and project work.

Turning knowledge into action

Students are encouraged to become creators and problem-solvers.

One student developed an affordable lithium battery recycling solution using locally available materials for developing countries, subsequently securing a place on the MIT Student Programme in collaboration with Nord Anglia Education.

Another used AI-assisted coding to develop an adaptive practice platform to help students preparing for the TMUA university admissions assessment.

Alongside technological innovation, OIC places equal emphasis on leadership, collaboration, compassion and purpose.

This philosophy is supported through the College's personalised Global Strategic Pathways, which align specialist mentoring, careers education, admissions preparation and exposure to emerging industries with students' future university and career ambitions.

Defining Futures

The recognition comes as OIC continues to develop its vision of preparing future pioneers capable of addressing complex global challenges through knowledge, innovation and compassion.

Being named an ISA Future Readiness finalist provides national recognition of that ambition.

At OIC, the aim is simple:

We are not preparing students for the future. We are preparing them to define it.
