Both national and international university admissions processes continue to grow more competitive each year, particularly for elite universities such as Oxbridge and high-demand courses like Medicine, Engineering and Computer Science. At Oxford International College, we know that students need more than fantastic A-level results to stand out. That’s why our innovative educational approach focuses on our students’ career aspirations together with their passions and interests. Our unique three-pillared strategy covering academic excellence, career preparation and personal development is what sets OIC apart from other private schools in the UK.
“I am really grateful for all the support I got from my teachers during my time here! In my A level studies, the rigorous weekly exams accompanied with targeted comments and advice helped me secure my understanding and skills; without this, I could not have gotten my 5A*s! And in preparing for Oxford admissions, the facilitating framework and ubiquitous support I received allowed me to embark on wider reading, debating opportunities, and admission test and interviews preparations - all of which crucial to developing my critical thinking and helping me achieve my dreams!”

We work with every student to craft their own Global Strategic Pathway: a personal roadmap encompassing academic courses, professional qualifications and personal experiences, putting each student in the best position to really stand out from the crowd and to achieve their university and career goals. Since no two students are alike, we allocate Strategy Tutors to students and provide individual mentoring and guidance throughout their educational journey at OIC, so that every student receives the support they need, when they need it.
More than A-Levels: OIC’s Three-Pillared Approach to Educational Success
A consistent track record of academic success has established Oxford International College as one of the best boarding schools in England. At OIC, our students study A-level courses with world-class teachers and passionate subject experts, many of whom are themselves Oxbridge graduates. With weekly testing and tutoring support, our students quickly master new concepts and fine-tune areas of challenge. Students are inspired to think outside of the box and are encouraged to explore their subjects beyond the academic syllabus.
Our Supercurricular department offers just that, with opportunities of work experience, internships and competitions – all vital openings to gain exposure to their chosen career and showcase their talents, students are immersed in learning outside of the classroom. From developing leadership and teamwork through The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to job shadowing with our Goodwill Ambassador Programme, these activities enable our students to gain invaluable skills while enhancing their professional portfolio.
All of this takes place within our supportive and inclusive, international community – a thriving learning environment where students are encouraged to develop a balanced approach to study with a focus on a healthy mindset of resilience, respect, resourcefulness and growth together with a curious and ambitious attitude that will last a lifetime. Students also enjoy participating in a variety of sporting activities, interest-based clubs and career-specific societies.
“During my two years at OIC, I had an enriching experience that significantly shaped my academic journey. The Supercurricular team provided a solid foundation for my university application, encouraging me to delve deeper into mathematics beyond the standard curriculum. The UCAS (University and Colleges Admissions Service) mentors were instrumental in refining my personal statement, ensuring it truly reflected my passion and strengths. The comprehensive support and guidance I received at OIC were pivotal in helping me achieve my goal of studying Mathematics at Imperial College.”

An Educational Journey to Achieve University and Career Aspirations
The road to university starts well before the applications process. Even from before students join us at the start of term, we at OIC are committed to supporting our ambitious students mapping their own unique journey to university and beyond. We firmly believe that the purpose of education is not only to achieve excellent A-level results, but to provide an educational experience that builds the character, confidence and self-awareness for a successful and satisfying future.
Teaching and learning at Oxford International College enables students to unleash their talents and thrive at the world’s best universities. This year, we are proud to share that over half of our graduates have been accepted to one of the prestigious G5 universities: the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, the London School of Economics (LSE) and University College London (UCL). In a record-breaking year for our International A-level college, 12 students have secured places from Oxford or Cambridge University, and 19 students have won their place to study at Imperial College London. In addition, a further 45 students have secured places from University College London. These offers span a wide array of rigorous subjects, including Medicine, Economics, History, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Computing and Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
The success of our most recent graduating class underscores the College’s commitment to providing a world-class educational experience that prepares students for success in a rapidly changing global landscape. In the words of our Principal, “Applying for university has become an incredibly competitive process, students face enormous pressure to not only achieve academically but also distinguish themselves from their peers. At OIC, our three-pillared approach enables students to do just that, by cultivating academic excellence, career preparation and personal development. The high calibre of this year’s university destinations is a testament to this approach, and we couldn’t be happier for our students and their families.”
