Delivered through the Nord Anglia Education and MIT collaboration, the programme brings together teachers from around the world to explore cutting-edge developments in teaching, learning and innovation. Through workshops, research-led activities and collaborative learning experiences facilitated by MIT experts, participants will engage with new approaches to STEAM education, creativity and problem-solving.
MIT's philosophy of mens et manus, meaning "mind and hand", reflects a belief that knowledge is most powerful when paired with practical application. This principle resonates strongly with OIC's commitment to combining academic excellence with real-world thinking, empowering students not only to master complex concepts but also to apply them with confidence, creativity and purpose.
Throughout the week, Dr Perz will collaborate with fellow educators from across the global Nord Anglia community, exchanging ideas and exploring innovative ways to further enrich the learning experience for OIC students.
Reflecting on the opportunity, Dr Perz said:
"I consider myself fortunate to be working at a school that offers its employees such unique opportunities, and I am looking forward to sharing what I learn with colleagues and students at OIC." At OIC, exceptional teaching begins with continual learning. Investing in world-class professional development ensures that our teachers remain at the forefront of educational innovation, bringing fresh perspectives, global insights and the latest advances in STEAM education directly into the classroom.
As a college dedicated to defining futures, we are proud to support opportunities that connect our staff with some of the world's leading institutions. We look forward to welcoming Dr Perz back from MIT and seeing how his experience will further enhance the pioneering STEAM opportunities available to OIC students.
