Oxford International College students celebrate outstanding GCSE success
Students at Oxford International College are celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE and IGCSE results, with grade 9 by far the most commonly awarded grade across the cohort. Students secured outstanding performances across mathematics, sciences, languages and humanities, with many achieving multiple top grades and strengthening their pathways towards careers in medicine, engineering and other highly competitive professions.
Among the highest performers was ZZ, who achieved an extraordinary seven grade 9s and now hopes to pursue a career in medicine.
Fellow aspiring medic JY secured six grade 9s, one grade 8 and an A*, while ZL, who is also aiming for a future in medicine, achieved four grade 9s, a grade 8 and an A*.
The College's future engineers also delivered exceptional results. JB achieved three grade 9s and five grade 8s, supporting ambitions to become a structural engineer. KZ earned three grade 9s, two grade 8s, a grade 7 and an A* and is looking ahead to a career in electrical engineering.
Particularly impressive performances were seen across biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science and additional mathematics, reflecting the College's strong tradition of preparing students for highly selective STEM pathways. Many students achieved the highest grades in multiple subjects, demonstrating both academic depth and breadth across the curriculum.
Dr Sarah Watson, Principal, said:
"I am immensely proud of what our students have achieved. Behind every grade is a great deal of hard work, perseverance and ambition. It is especially pleasing to see so many students securing outstanding results in the subjects most closely connected to their future aspirations. Whether our students are preparing for careers in medicine, engineering, technology or other demanding professions, these results provide a strong platform for the next stage of their educational journey. Congratulations to all of our students, and thank you to the teachers and families whose support has helped make these achievements possible."
