The EPQ Journey Begins

During this week’s EPQ Showcase, Year 13 students shared projects covering an impressive range of subjects, from Medicine and Law to Economic History, Engineering, AI, Computer Science, Politics and Psychology.
Tristan, Weicy and another Year 13 student spoke about their own EPQ experiences, including how they developed their initial ideas into focused research titles, identified reliable academic sources and managed the challenge of producing a 5,000-word dissertation in just six months.
The session then moved into smaller groups, giving Year 12 the chance to ask questions, hear first-hand advice and gain a clearer understanding of what to expect over the months ahead.
Importantly, that support will continue beyond the showcase. Students were invited to sign up for a Year 13 EPQ buddy, connecting them with someone who has already experienced the process and can offer advice and encouragement along the way.
It was a valuable opportunity for students across year groups to share their experiences and for our new EPQ cohort to begin their projects with greater confidence, direction and ambition.
