How Science Works Biology in Action

Students investigated how temperature affects the movement of maggots, carefully observing and recording the distance travelled over one minute at different temperatures.
Their results revealed a clear pattern: as the temperature increased, the maggots moved further in one minute.
The practical gave students an opportunity to develop key scientific skills, from collecting and analysing data to identifying patterns and considering how experimental evidence can be used to draw conclusions.
