University Prep Course

Before the new academic year began, students took part in a focused University Preparation programme designed to strengthen their applications and build confidence ahead of the competitive university admissions process.
For students aspiring to Oxbridge, Medicine, STEM and G5 universities, a successful application requires much more than strong academic results. The University Preparation Course gave students dedicated time to focus on the different elements that can help them stand out.
Across the programme, students worked with experienced mentors to develop their application strategy, admissions test preparation, personal statements and interview skills, with guidance tailored to their individual university ambitions.
One-to-one mentoring formed an important part of the experience, giving students personalised feedback and the opportunity to refine their applications with support from graduates of G5 universities.
Students also explored how to communicate their academic interests and supercurricular experiences effectively, while realistic interview practice – including Oxbridge-style interviews and MMIs – helped them become more confident discussing their ideas and responding under pressure.
Rather than simply introducing students to the application process, the programme was about giving them the time, expertise and individual guidance to make meaningful progress.
By the end of the course, students left with clearer strategies, stronger applications and greater confidence in the journey ahead.
Ambitious destinations require strategic preparation. This was an opportunity to start building that advantage early.
