Oxford International College students have demonstrated their mathematical talent in the Mathematical Olympiad for Girls 2026, with three participants achieving Distinctions in this prestigious national competition.
The Mathematical Olympiad for Girls is a challenging competition designed to encourage and celebrate mathematical excellence among young female mathematicians. Organised by the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT), it gives students the opportunity to test their abilities beyond the classroom through demanding mathematical problems.
Unlike traditional examinations, the Olympiad requires students to demonstrate logical reasoning, creative thinking and advanced problem-solving skills, often approaching unfamiliar questions and developing detailed mathematical solutions.
