OIC Students Represent the College at the NAE-UNICEF Student Summit in Houston

Please input description.Anna and Felicia joined more than 150 students from Nord Anglia schools around the world for a week of leadership, collaboration and social impact at the 2026 NAE-UNICEF Student Summit.
This summer, Oxford International College students Anna and Felicia travelled to Houston, Texas, to represent the College at the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) Student Summit, delivered in collaboration with UNICEF.
Bringing together more than 150 students from over 50 Nord Anglia schools worldwide, the Summit encouraged young people to explore global citizenship, leadership and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year's theme, "Making the Invisible Visible," focused on Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, inspiring students to think creatively about some of the world's most pressing environmental and social challenges.
Throughout the week, Anna and Felicia took part in an exciting programme of interactive workshops, leadership sessions and collaborative projects. Working alongside students from across the globe, they developed their communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills while sharing perspectives shaped by different cultures, experiences and backgrounds.
From values-based leadership and storytelling workshops to discussions led by UNICEF, every session encouraged students to consider how young people can create meaningful change within their own communities. They also worked in international teams to develop and present innovative solutions to real-world sustainability challenges, building confidence in presenting ideas and collaborating with others.
One of the highlights of the week was volunteering at the Houston Food Bank, where students worked together to support local families while gaining a deeper understanding of food insecurity and the importance of community action. The experience reinforced the Summit's message that meaningful social impact begins with practical action.
The programme also balanced learning with opportunities to experience Houston and build lasting friendships. Students enjoyed attending a Sugar Land Space Cowboys baseball game, exploring attractions including NASA's Space Center Houston and the city's museums, as well as celebrating the end of the week with a bowling evening alongside their new friends from around the world.
For Anna and Felicia, the Summit was far more than a leadership conference. It was an opportunity to challenge themselves, exchange ideas with like-minded students, discover new cultures and gain a broader understanding of the role young people can play in shaping a more sustainable future.
Reflecting on the experience, both students described the week as inspiring, rewarding and incredibly enjoyable. The friendships they formed, the ideas they exchanged and the experiences they shared made the Summit one they will remember for years to come.
We are incredibly proud of Anna and Felicia for representing Oxford International College with enthusiasm, curiosity and compassion. Their experience at the NAE-UNICEF Student Summit reflects OIC's commitment to developing globally minded students who are equipped to make a positive difference in the world.
